When were your products released?

Vegas Solitaire, Blackjack, and Demon Solitaire were released on the first day of the iTunes App Store, July 11, 2008.

What are your products?

See the previous answer. We have a wide variety of products in the pipeline, several of which are ready to go. We’ll have more information shortly, including screenshots once Apple lifts its NDA restrictions. In addition to the three applications already announced, we have several more in the pipeline.

How do I buy your products?

Our products are available exclusively through Apple’s iTunes on your desktop or laptop computer, or via the AppStore on your iPhone or iPod Touch running firmware version 2.0 or higher

I need help. What should I do?

Read the on-line documentation and these FAQs. If you still can’t solve your problem, contact us at support@waffleturtle.com. A real human will read your email and respond as soon as possible.

How much will your products cost?

The price will vary, but the first four products will range from $1.99 to $2.99 (US Dollars).

Will you have demo or trial versions?

We have not yet decided for sure, but probably not. We think our prices are low enough, and that we provide enough up-front information, so that if you purchase our software there won’t be any unpleasant surprises. We are still thinking about it, however.

What’s a waffleturtle?

We don’t know, but it moves slowly and needs lots of powdered sugar.

Some of your software seems to keep track of score using “dollars.” Can I gamble or win real money with this software?

No. All of our software is for your personal use and/or entertainment purposes only, and any gambling is simulated.

Can I be a beta tester?

Maybe. Apple has instituted a mechanism to allow for this, and we are currently evaluating the technical capabilities of this system..

The versions page shows versions I can’t find on iTunes or the app store.

This means that Apple has not yet approved the updated version for distribution, or has approved it but not yet entered it into its database. Look for it again in 1-2 business days.

The application loads, but then immediately crashes. (Alternatively: the program used to work, but now crashes when I load it)

This is a widely-reported symptom for nearly all AppStore applications. The problem appears to be related to the Fairplay DRM features that Apple requires be used with all applications. To solve this, try the following:

  • Turn your phone off by pressing and holding the top button, then sliding your finger at the prompt. Then turn the phone back on. If that doesn’t work:
  • Reset your phone by pressing and holding the top and front buttons simultaneously for about 10 seconds. If that doesn’t work:
  • Reinstall the software by first deleting it (press and hold the icon until it wiggles, then press the ‘x’ button on the icon) and then redownloading it. If you have multiple iTunes accounts, be sure to use the same iTunes account to reinstall the software; that way you will not be charged a second time.

  • I see unlikely events - certain cards appear too often, or I keep winning (or losing) hands, or [insert card here] keeps coming up, etc.

This is not a bug. We have tested the “shuffling” algorithms using statistical methods and they work fine. Remember that even though certain things may appear to be unlikely, if not impossible, then they will sometimes occur.
