This application is intended for patent attorneys, particularly litigators. It allows you to use your device's internet connection to efficiently retrieve United States utility patent information, particularly claims, title, inventors, and priority information, if you already know the patent number. Patents can be bookmarked and associated with matter names and numbers, and an editable history of patent numbers is maintained. You can also launch Safari to view the full-text of the specification on the USPTO's website, or email the claims using the device's mail application.
The following screenshots should help explain the features of this application:
Above, we see the basic “claims” view. Each claim appears in a scrollable list, and the total number of claims, and the number of independent claims, is indicated. If this had been a reissue, claim language would be italicized as appropriate.
In the view above, we see the “cover” screen. This provides various data about the patent, as well as any recorded assignments.
In the “refs” view, related U.S. patents and applications are shown. Related U.S. patents are “clickable,” so that touching them results in the reference being loaded. Additionally, cited U.S. patents, also clickable, are shown.
In this view, saved pages are shown, by “matter” (e.g.: “Cartright”). If you assign a matter name or number to a patent, it is cached on your device so that you may access it without an internet connection. Additionally, the “history” tab shows all patents that you’ve recently viewed. You can delete items from your history or unassign them from matters.
With a couple of screentaps you can launch safari to view the patent’s spec, assign a matter name or number to a patent, or email the claims.
